Rita C. Guedes
Rita C. Guedes leads the Molecular Modelling Lab from iMed.ULisboa and is Assistant Professor from the University of Lisbon (Portugal). She graduated in Chemistry in 1997 and held her PhD in Physical Chemistry in 2003 by the University of Lisbon. From 2003 to 2005, Rita C. Guedes was Post-Doc in Computational Medicinal Chemistry in Sweden (Uppsala and Örebro Universities). Her current research is focused in identifying and optimizing small molecules to target proteins involved in inflammation, cancer and infectious diseases, using computational methods like molecular docking, virtual screening, homology modelling, pharmacore modelling, de novo design, moelcular dynamics stimulations and quantum mechanics calculations for drug discovery campaigns. Se published more than 70 papers in international peer-reviewed (ISI) journals, and supervised several Post-Docs, PhDs, master and project students.
